About Splikit
Splikit is a free image split kit for one clear job: turn one photo into multiple clean, correctly ordered pieces without forcing an account or a server upload.
Splikit is operated at splikit.com as a public, browser-based utility. It is built for creators, marketers, designers, educators, and small teams who need a fast way to prepare grids, carousels, print tiles, and social sequences while keeping files on their own device.

Why we built it
We kept seeing the same friction in other tools:
- Forced uploads for a task that should stay local
- Watermarked output unless you pay
- Confusing UI for simple split tasks
- Unreliable piece order for posting workflows
- Heavy apps for a basic crop-and-slice job
Splikit stays intentionally focused: do the core split well, stay private by default, and expand only when the kit earns it.
What “good” means for us
- Finish the job in under a minute
- Understand the result before download
- Get predictable tile order
- Repeat the same workflow tomorrow with the same behavior
Product choices we made on purpose
Local-first splitting
Core split processing runs in your browser (Canvas / client-side).
No account wall for core usage
You can use the main splitter without registration.
Practical presets plus custom control
Presets cover common social and print layouts; custom rows/columns handle edge cases.
Output formats teams actually use
PNG, JPG, and WebP are supported because those are the formats most people publish with.
What people use Splikit for
- Instagram grid layouts and carousel sequences
- X/Twitter split-image posts
- Tiled poster preparation for print-at-home workflows
- Creative campaign asset slicing
- Simple educational or presentation visual sequences
Current limits (transparent by design)
- File size up to 20 MB per image (typical browser comfort zone)
- Grid sizes up to 10×10 (100 pieces)
These limits are explicit so you can plan around them.
What this product is not
Splikit is not:
- A cloud DAM or media library
- A managed bulk media pipeline
- A legal rights verification service
- A substitute for platform-specific QA before publishing
How we improve the kit
We prioritize changes that remove real friction: clearer mobile download flows, better failure recovery, and more consistent results across browsers. Bug reports and recurring confusion come before broad feature sprawl.
